What's included in a V8 drive?
All V8 drives include the required racing gear - overalls and a helmet complete with in-car comms - and a safety briefing/pre-drive tuition. The number of laps you do will depend on the package you have.
The experience kicks off with the pre-drive tuition, where you’ll go through the important stuff, like overtaking and breaking. Then you’ll jump in the car and your instructor will give you another briefing before you can race off.
What’s included in V8 hot laps?
Hot lap experiences also include the suit and helmet with in-car comms, so you can chat to your driver during the drive. After a safety briefing, you’ll get to ride along with a professional driver and watch them in action as they fly around the track, taking on corners at impressive speeds.
Keen to do both? There is a drive and passenger lap combo where you get to do it all. Take control of a V8 and drive it for yourself then let the pro take over and enjoy the ride.
How fast can a V8 go?
V8 cars can go above 200km/h. These are pure-bred racing machines that have been manufactured to reach top speeds, thanks to their eight-cylinder piston engine.
Can I drive the car by myself?
Yes, you can drive the car yourself, but there will be a qualified instructor beside you. They are there to help guide you and build your confidence. Graham confirmed that these are pro drivers who have been doing this for a long time, so you’re in good hands.
What are the licence requirements to drive a V8?
To drive a V8, you need a valid licence. While learners aren’t welcomed, provisional and international drivers can do this experience.
If you’re just doing hot laps, no licence is required.
Do I need to know how to drive manual?
No, you don’t need to know how to drive manual to get behind a V8. While most of the vehicles are manual, Graham said your instructor can teach you on the track.
