Experience the magnificence of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef with an overnight stay right on the reef. You’ll have plenty of time to admire the beautiful tropical landscape both above and below water by day, and spend an unforgettable night sleeping under the stars in the middle of the reef. 

Departing from Airlie Beach, you’ll cruise on board a premier cruise vessel through the crystal blue waters of Australia’s iconic Whitsunday Islands until you reach the deluxe, purpose-built complex called ‘Heart Pontoon’ afloat on the Great Barrier Reef. It’s a multi-level reef facility permanently moored about 70km away from the shore at the incredible Hardy Reef.  

There’s plenty to do: you can snorkel with all the gear (including wetsuits and stinger suits) provided, admire the colourful coral reef through the underwater observatory, take a semi-submarine guided tour, or opt for extras like guided snorkelling safaris, scuba diving, massages and heli-scenic flights at your own expense. 

In between swims you can sit back and relax on the deck of the pontoon and be treated to delicious snacks and meals featuring fresh local produce. There are sun decks, undercover seating and tables, freshwater showers, and access to the air-conditioned comfort of the boat if you need a reprieve. As the day winds down the day-trippers will head back to shore, so the pontoon and reef are all yours. 

Enjoy a sunset drink, BBQ dinner, and when you’re ready you can head to bed - a comfy swag and bed linen underneath a sky full of stars. When you wake up you can do it all again before it’s time to head home.
