Cruise Adventure, Great Barrier Reef and Green Island - Cairns

To appreciate the extraordinary oceanic expanse of the Great Barrier Reef, you really need to take it in from a distance. But to explore the colourful marine wonderland, you need to get up close and personal. So the only solution is to experience the iconic landmark from all angles: sky, land and sea. 

Here’s how you do it: kick off your day with a scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef and spot all its unique formations with the help of the in-flight commentary. The unobstructed aerial views you’ll have from your guaranteed window seat will make every postcard of Australia’s famous North Queensland coastline pale in comparison. Soaring over endless crystal blue waters speckled with reefs and islands is a thrill you can’t replace.

Once you’re back on land, you’ll jump on board the Reef Rocket for a cruise to the pristine shores of Green Island. Breathe in the salty air from the deck and watch the marine wonderland pass beneath you through the boat’s glass bottom section. This is where you can get cosy with the colourful reef world you know only from photos and Finding Nemo. 

You can either go for a snorkel and swim amongst the fish or stay on board to enjoy a coral viewing tour looking straight through the boat floor to the ocean floor. There will be a fish feeding session, a lunch, and opportunity to adventure through the compact wilderness of Green Island on a self-guided walk. At the end of the day you’ll jet back over the crystal blue water and be dropped back at the Cairns Reef Terminal.
