5 Beginner-Friendly Adventures

So, you’re looking for adventure? Welcome to Crew (it took you long enough). Yeah, you might struggle at first, but you’ll get the hang of it. Come on, let’s get to it.

Learn to surf

It doesn’t get any more beginner than a learn to surf lesson. Seriously, you need absolutely none of the gear, just turn up; they provide everything including the wetsuit and surfboard. Your surfing instructor will walk you through the basics and give you a demo on the sand. They stay with you once you’re in the water and set you up for the best waves, sharing tips as you go. And yes, kneeling counts as getting up — screw anyone who says otherwise.

Treetops

Looking for a fun outdoor adventure? You’ve got to do a treetops course. Like a massive adult-friendly playground but more exciting because there’s a lot more swinging, climbing and flying thrown in. Oh, and because it’s in the air. With different levels to choose from, it doesn’t get any more beginner-friendly than this. Just turn up, get harnessed, do the safety training and off you climb.

Go karting

Go karting is the ultimate starting point for driving adventures – for real, it’s only up from here. Like Mario Kart in real life, get ready to unleash your inner speed demon on the track. No licence is needed; you can rock up without any driving experience. Suit up with the provided gear and do a quick five-minute training and briefing. Grab your race suit and helmet, then strap in and floor it.

Rock climbing

Scared of heights? Rock climbing will help (sort of). Great for first-timers, you can climb at your own pace and take your time. There are also both outdoor and indoor rock climbing options. Yeah, it might seem daunting but once you reach the top, you’ll be loving life. Gear up with the safety gear provided that’ll keep you secure on your climb. Plus, an experienced guide will be by your side, helping you find your way up.

Kayaking

If you’re looking to start off with a chill adventure, it’s got to be kayaking. Simple to start, hard to put down — you'll love exploring on the water. The kayak, paddle and safety jacket are all provided. If you aren’t confident, that’s cool; the safety briefing and demonstration will have you paddling like a pro in no time. Plus, with a qualified guide leading the way, you won’t get lost.
