For anyone with some canyoning experience under their belt, this epic full day adventure at Butterbox Canyon in the Blue Mountains is the next challenge you need to tick off your list. Packed with abseils, rock climbing, rock jumps and swimming, this canyoning adventure is one you'll never forget. Butterbox Canyon isn't for the faint hearted, so be ready to get your blood pumping and tackle some exciting obstacles. Running through the Grose Valley in the Blue Mountains Heritage area, you'll find seven challenging abseils, rock jumps from up to 8m, rock climbing and amazing views on the exit trail. Gear up for an abseil about 20m down into the darkest crevasse of the slot canyon, and another is down into a waterfall from a giant chock-stone wedged between the canyon walls. After a lot of excitement, finish up with a steep hike out and a short rock climb up an exposed sandstone cliff. The views and the adrenaline rush are all more than worth it.

Butterbox Canyon

This was a fantastic canyon to give an insight into intermediate/advanced canyoning. Recommed for someone thats looking for their next thrillseeking adventure. Our guide was incredibly professional and demonstrated deep knowledge of the area and their craft. Making for a very enjoyable and safe tour of the butterbox canyon. The climb out of this canyon is quite difficult and you're carrying 10+kgs on your back, up steep STEEP inclines, also traversing a cliff edge followed by a short grade 16 rock climb with your pack. The trail back is quite slippery and narrow. Need to be fit. If you're up for the challenge, definitely recommend. This was only my second canyoning experience, looking forward to more.

Got everything I was hoping for

This is a beautiful canyon for experienced canyoners or at least, fit adventurous people. The walk out is a killer, so be prepared. The trip was really well organised with a friendly, professional guide that really made me feel welcome.
