What you can expect
Exhilaration, excitement and the adrenaline rush of a lifetime. Learning to fly a helicopter is an unforgettable experience to tick off your bucket list. After a briefing session with your pilot you’ll both jump into the helicopter cock pit and take off for your 30 minute training flight, where you’ll get to take control. The premium trial lesson is a no-obligation flight that includes a 10-minute instructional briefing followed by a 30-minute flight where you get to take over the controls. Feel the thrill of your first time flying a helicopter, then sit back and enjoy the ride as your instructor demonstrates some techniques you will learn later in your training. If you’re feeling up to it, the instructor will even demonstrate a simulated engine failure on the way back into Archerfield. The perfect way to see if flying is for you.
If the feeling of taking control of a helicopter while soaring through air doesn’t take your breath away, the views of Brisbane certainly will!

Note
- Minimum age is 17 years
- No flying experience is required - you will be supervised by an expert instructor at all times
- You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Maximum weight is 109kg (including clothes)

Seasons
- If the weather turns particularly windy or rainy you will not be able to fly. Please call V2 Helicopters on (07) 3274 6666 before heading out to the airport to confirm your flight is still going ahead.
Operating Hours
- Refer to your confirmation for your start time. Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time as you will need to complete some paperwork prior to your briefing.
What To Bring
- Comfortable clothing should be worn, as it can get quite warm in the cockpit
- Sturdy shoes
- Sunglasses are a must as the glare off clouds can be quite severe
- A cap is also a good idea
