Seasons

  • The climate of Fraser Island is subtropical, with warm daytime temperatures throughout the entire year. The winter months are from May to August, where the average tempera- tures are 14-25 C (57-77 degrees F). Winter is the drier month of the year and it is less likely that you will see much rainfall during walking season. If it does rain it’s generally short showers.

  • Departs Urangan at approximately 7am

Additional Information

  • A minimum of two and a maximum of six people are included in this tour
  • Available between March and October
  • Hiking on Fraser Island is subject to the Fraser Island Great Walk hiking tracks being open, based on a precipitation level - due to fire safety. This is monitored by Queensland National Parks, as they can close the hiking tracks with little notice especially in the warmer months of November to March. Therefore this hike is only run from March to October to ensure safety and confirmation of tracks.

  • Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
