What An Awesome Experience
My wife has always wanted to experience horse riding. As it was both our first time horse riding the friendly staff made us both feel comfortable. The one hour low walking pace ride through the country side was amazing and an experience we wont forget. I would recommend them to anyone who would like to experience it.
What you can expect
Take a break from the wineries and get out in the open with this horse riding tour. Whilst riding along trails through bushland in a single file, admire the vast expanses of green blend into farmland, with the stunning mountains in the backdrop. Each person in the group will be paired with a horse that fits their physique, and with an experienced instructor and easy trails, this tour is perfect for first timers right through to experienced riders. The ride is set at a walking pace.

- This tour operates from the grounds of The Hunter Valley Resort, which is located on the intersection of Hermitage Road and Mistletoe Lane, Pokolbin
- When you enter off Hermitage Rd please continue straight ahead down the road following the signs to The Farm, past the tennis court
- The tour departs from The Adventure Centre shed

- Long pants and enclosed shoes are advised for your own comfort
- Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and any other sun protective gear you need

Nice horses, but service issues
A lot of people do these tours not just to ride a horse, but also to take photos. Staff should either allow people to take photos themselves (which is preferable) or learn how to use a camera. I don''t buy that it can''t be made safe. And if staff do insist that they do it for you - at least try to make faces come out something that doesn''t look like a big black spot due to overexposure in the sun. The other let down is hygiene. If you offer helmets - make sure that there is a disposable balaclava or something similar that is available for people to use.

We were kitting out and told of the safety aspects before setting off. I felt that interaction from the instructors to the participants during the ride would have made the experience more enjoyable.
