What you can expect
Feel the pure thrill of an extraordinary hot air ballooning experience over the beautiful city of Melbourne. Depending on the wind direction you may go soaring in your hot-air balloon flight over the CBD and the Yarra River, or over the inner suburbs, parks and gardens. The still morning air at sunrise makes flying conditions perfect during what is known in the hot-air ballooning industry as the "weather window", a glorious time to fly over the city.
The hot-air ballooning journey begins with a briefing by the pilot before you head to the launch site, and if you like, you can help prepare the hot-air balloon for flight. Thirty minutes later you'll be soaring over the city in a hot-air ballooning flight that will last around one hour. Rise and shine early for an unbeatable flying adventure - it's worth it.

Time
- You will meet the experience provider half an hour before sunrise
- Call the weather check number as the exact time will be confirmed the night before your flight. It is important to be punctual.

Departure Location
- This experience departs from 25 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia. Please meet for your Balloon flight at 'Sofi's Lounge', 1st floor of the Sofitel Hotel, Melbourne
- Complimentary city pick-ups are available from every major motel/hotel within the CBD, however these must be pre-booked so let the experience provider know if you require transportation
What To Bring
- Outdoor clothes recommended (avoid whites)
- Solid shoes as the ground is often covered with dew in the early morning
- The temperature in the balloon is the same as on the ground and you move with the breeze there is no wind chill factor
- Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Terms And Conditions
- No particular level of fitness or experience is required but you must be able to stand up for the duration of the flight (approximately one hour)
- Minimum age is seven years
- Minimum height 130 cm
- Not suitable for those that are pregnant, wheelchair users or those recovering from recent surgery
- The exact time of your Hot Air Balloon flight experience will vary based upon the time of year and will be sent to you upon booking

Amazing experience and knowledgeable staff
I felt comfortable and well-informed the whole time, and got to participate in everything including the setup, inflation and packing up of the balloon. Staff clearly knew what they were doing and explained everything along the way. The experience itself was mind blowing and offered amazing views of the city.

I want to go again already
I have been wanting to do this flight since I moved to Melbourne. It was better than expected. You simply can't beat views like this, and the balloon is such a comfortable way to do it. The crew did a fantastic job of explaining everything and letting us know what to expect. The only problem is I spent so much time taking incredible photos from the air that I should have allowed more time to take it all in.
