What you can expect
The thrill of breathing underwater on your first scuba diving adventure is something you'll always remember! With the help of the diving instructors, you can learn to dive safely in a fun and relaxed environment. This 3 day course will bring you all of the excitement, knowledge and experience you need to become a PADI open water diver which will teach you to dive safely from the shore, off structures and off boats.
After studying the eLearning theory in your own time, your course begins with a short introduction followed by 5 modular swimming pool skill circuits to train you to use your equipment, signals and skills safely. This confined water session is conducted by a highly qualified PADI dive instructor. The next day, you will be scuba diving and 2 shore based dives will see you refining your skills and exploring the underwater world for the very first time. The feeling of being amongst the aquatic world is exhilarating!
On the final day, you will be taken to Rottnest Island on board a dive vessel for two awesome dives at the Island playground. During these dives, you’ll swim around some of the most amazing limestone and coral structures in the Southern Hemisphere. See crayfish, stingrays, cuttlefish and hundreds of different species of fish as you glide through your dive in the safe hands of your instructor. During the surface interval between dives you will have a BBQ lunch (supplied) and you will have ample time to relax and sunbathe on the upper deck of the vessel or head out for a snorkel in the pristine waters of one of Rottnest Island’s sheltered bays.
After the final dive you'll return to the dive centre to celebrate as you're welcomed to the world of diving as a qualified PADI Open Water Diver. A truly memorable day is rounded off by the presentation of your PADI Open Water Dive Course Certificate.

- Summer bookings should be made well in advance. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability
- Not available on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Australia Day
What To Bring
- You will need to bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen and your current dive medical (if required).

- The experience provider does not issue refunds for change of mind, they will however, offer store credit. The store credit voucher’s value will be decided according to how much time you have given.
- Cancellations made 1-3 days out from your booking time will mean you forfeit any sort of refund, full or partial, unless a replacement booking can be made. In this case 80% of the experience will be credited. You must pay the 20%.
- ‘No Shows’ will result in forfeiture of any sort of refund, full or partial.
- If a session is cancelled due to bad weather, store credit will be offered or an alternative booking date.
- All cancellations must be received in writing.
Terms And Conditions
- Minimum age is 14 years
- All participants under the age of 18 years must have a parent/guardian sign all applicable waiver/medical forms
- A diving medical (AS4005.1) may be required prior to commencement of the course
- A 200m swim and 10 minute tread water will be part of the assessment process
- This experience may be affected by the weather. If the sea is too rough then the diving day will be rescheduled
- If this is the case, we will endeavour to complete the course in the set time at a shore dive location and you will be offered a voucher to Rottnest Island at a later date

Wonderful intro into Scuba
Overall great course and fantastic staff, it was a great introduction to the world of scuba diving, our instructor Eric was a great teacher, patient, encouraging, and always ready to share his knowledge. It was a great first foray into diving, and I?m sure it?s only the beginning of a lifelong learning journey with many new adventures!
Can''t recommend them high enough
Loved the experience. All the staff both at Perth Scuba and on the boat Blue Destiny were super helpful and made for an incredible experience, our instructor Maikel was great. Plus you get to go diving at Rottnest Island which is an amazing experience. If you are thinking of getting into diving this is the place to go.
