A day on the Low Isles at the Great Barrier Reef
The day was a great introduction to the Great Barrier Reef with a variety of activities to choose from. Particularly enjoyed learning about the reef and having my first snorkel with the Marine Biologist who explained how to safely snorkel in the area and noted corals, fish and other things of interest, which helped when snorkelling alone for the rest of the day. The lunch provided by the team was filling and the transit boat to and from the catamaran gave you the flexibility to either be on the island or the boat, There were a lot of options for those too who weren't comfortable snorkelling as they could do the island tour, We had a great day!

You'll head out of Port Douglas for an exciting one hour sailing adventure, before Wavedancer parks up at the incredible coral island paradise of Low Isles. Enjoy a day full of activities or relaxing on the beach, or a bit of both.
Set sail on a beautiful 30 metre catamaran, Wavedancer, and cross the stunning blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef. You'll moor in the lagoon of Low Isles, a tropical coral island ideal for snorkelling and beach activities. Enjoy snorkelling and exploring the island with a marine biologist, view coral gardens through a glass bottom boat, or just relax on the beach under thatched umbrellas. You'll be treated to morning and afternoon tea, and a delicious lunch on board the decks of the catamaran. This is the perfect way for any families, friends, couples, or lone travellers to experience the magic of the Great Barrier Reef.

- This experience departs from the Reef Marina, Wharf Street Port Douglas 4870. Free public parking is available at the Reef Marina car park, Wharf Street Port Douglas.
- Coach transfers are available on request with pickups from most Cairns, Northern Beaches and Port Douglas accommodation. Please advise of your pickup location at the time of booking

- For cancellations after 6pm on the day prior to travel a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
- For cancellations between 12 midday and 6pm on the day prior to travel a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
- For cancellations before 12 midday on the day prior to travel no cancellation fee will apply.
- Any Environmental Management Charge collected is to be refunded.
- Any refund given will be by the same method payment was made.
- A change of travel date can be made to your booking without incurring any cancellation fee.

Disappointed
Whilst the trip out to the low isle was wonderful as was the food for lunch the snorkelling was so disappointing. The staff were really helpful and friendly but the water was so stirred up by too many swimmers in such a small area where we were allowed to swim it was ridiculous. I believe the barrier reef needs to be protected but everytime i went near a reef i was told to move on. I had been looking forward to this trip for ages but my family and I were pretty disappointed with too many restrictions and the stirred up water. It was really low tide and this def is no ones fault. We make any day out with the family a good one, we always have fun, but it was no where near as good as we were expecting. Perhaps the other cruises out further would of been better, I dont know.
