Begin your journey towards mastering freediving and put your skills to the test with this two day freedive course in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. You'll learn the basic theory on an interactive app, jump in the pool to practice breathing and rescue techniques, and practice freediving to depth during two open water dives at the HMAS Brisbane wreck. The PADI Full Freedive course contains three phases - knowledge development, a confined water session, and two open water freedives. The knowledge development phase is run through an interactive app, through which you'll learn about how the body reacts to breath holding, how water pressure affects you, freediving equipment, important safety rules and buddy procedures. Then phase two is run in a swimming pool where you'll learn breathing techniques while floating (static apnea) and swimming (dynamic apnea). You'll also practice basic rescue techniques and learn your role as a buddy. Then put your new skills into practice as you make your way to the incredible HMAS Brisbane wreck for two open water dives. Enjoy the freedom as you practice breath-holding while diving down, either by pulling yourself along a line (free immersion) or duck diving head first while following a line (constant weight). Gradually increase the depths from 10 to 16 metres as you get more comfortable, and explore the amazing dive site. Nothing compares to the freedom and adventure of freediving, so get started!
