What you can expect
If you've always dreamed of flying a helicopter, now’s your chance with the Trial Introductory Helicopter Flight at Bankstown Airport, Sydney. Your adventure starts with a briefing covering the basics of helicopter flight, control functions, and essential safety measures. Then, you'll embark on a thrilling 1-hour training flight. As your instructor fires up the engine and the rotor blades spin into action, you'll soon be taking the controls yourself.
Throughout the flight, you'll gradually learn to handle more controls until you could have full command of the helicopter. Fly around the Bankstown Airport training area, practicing steady flight paths, changing direction, and even hovering. This advanced control-learning course offers an incredible insight into a pilot's responsibilities and guarantees an adrenaline rush.

Hotel Pickup
- There is no transport provided on this adventure, however a pick-up from Bankstown Station can be arranged if required.
What To Bring
- Loose comfortable clothing should be worn, as it can get quite warm in the cockpit and sturdy shoes
- Sunglasses are a must as the glare off clouds can be quite severe
- A cap is also a good idea
Additional Information
- The Helicopters are available 7 days a week at Bankstown Airport
- What about transport? There is no transport provided on this adventure, however pick ups and return are available from Bankstown Station on request
- Please note: Once your time is secured, this operator does not allow refunds. There is a $55 cancellation fee if passenger doesn't want a reschedule, even if it’s cancelled due to the weather. For queries on the day of your big adventure please call the supplier
Terms And Conditions
- No particular level of fitness is required but people with epilepsy cannot fly
- No experience is required, you will be supervised by an expert instructor at all times
- No heavy drinking the night before and a decent breakfast on the morning are recommended
- Maximum passenger weight for the Cabri helicopter is 110kg
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience with a fee of $55
- Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Birthday gift for my captain
The perfect gift for my partner . He has his private pilot licence and i thought maybe learning the helicopter for an hour would be interesting for him as a birthday gift. Now i am to blame that he wants a helicopter licence 🫢😇 Great experience to condense theory and practicing to fly the helicopter in one hour. He went to the sydney harbour , long reef etc
