Take your driving to the next level with a full-day Level 1 Defensive Driver course in Western Sydney. Experienced instructors will guide you through crucial vehicle dynamics, road safety, and driving skills, using a blend of theoretical and hands-on practical lessons. You'll complete the course in your own car, making it a personalized and effective learning experience. This course is ideal for inexperienced drivers looking to develop better on-road skills and techniques, as well as for experienced drivers wanting to correct old habits and improve judgment and reactions. Whatever car you drive, the skills and insights gained will make you a safer and more proactive driver. The interactive classroom component covers essential principles, including how driver attitudes, motivations, and risk-taking behavior affect safety. You'll learn about vehicle safety systems, how to choose a safe car, basic vehicle dynamics theory, and the impacts of speeding, drugs and alcohol, fatigue, and driver distractions. The practical component includes basic vehicle dynamics, car control systems (seating, vision, and steering), braking techniques, raising awareness of speed, reaction times, stopping distances, and how your vehicle reacts in emergency situations. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded improvement in your driving skills and safety awareness.

- This experience is located at Nirimba Education Precinct on the corner of Eastern Rd and Warawara Crt in Quakers Hill, NSW.
What To Bring
- Your current driver’s licence
- Your vehicle with a full tank of fuel, optimal tyre pressures, water and oil levels. You must supply your own car for this experience
- Wear comfortable casual clothing according to the weather
- Wear footwear that has a thin sole eg. joggers
- Bulky shoes, high heels or climbing boots are not optimal driving shoes
- Hat, sunscreen and the Aerogard if it is hot
- Lunch and drinks
- Spectators are not permitted
Terms And Conditions
- The Level 1 course is suited to drivers of regular passenger vehicles (including four wheel drives and light commercial vehicles)
- All participants must present their current driver's licence ('P' plate or above) in order to participate
- Learner drivers are accepted provided they have a Licensed Driver with them at all times
- No particular level of fitness or experience is required
- Not suitable for pregnant women

- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

I wish I did it when I was younger. Great insight and excellent course you really get to understand the limits of your car. Recommend to any level of driver.

Useful but boring
I mean I can see it’s usefulness however I felt like i was on a court mandated thing. It was just boring and sure I stopped slightly sooner by the end of the day but is stopping faster really worth the how much this course costs? As well as the time I missed out on I could’ve had a much more enjoyable day simply driving my car on public roads. Overall if you want to get this for a learner driver I would reccomend it or if you’re a poor driver and want to be more annoying on the road because you now think you’re better. Personally whilst it wasn’t useless I certainly found it boring and not particularly useful for myself. Not Saying I’m a very good driver but I didn’t learn much I didn’t already know.

A must do for all drivers
The level 1 defensive driving course has been one of the best decisions I made to do with my daughter who is on her Red P’s. I’ve been driving for 30+ years & learnt so much. This course is a must do for everyone & I think it should be compulsory for all Learner drivers. I can’t wait to do the next level course.
