For this extended tour, you'll depart from the Granite Island Causeway and cruise slowly between the mainland and the northern side of Granite Island, affording breathtaking views of both the Victor Harbor shoreline and the island. Once past the breakwater the vessel picks up its pace. Seal Rock is the first stop, where New Zealand Fur Seals and Australian Sea Lions bask in the sun between fishing forays and swimming out to the boat for a sticky-beak! Then on past the huge granite boulders of Wright Island and the Bluff, with Shark Alley in between where your captain talks about the whaling history of the area. Many visitors to Victor Harbor never venture past Petrel Cove on the western side of The Bluff, but this is where passengers are in for a real treat! West Island is a Conservation Park, complete with a research hut used by the universities and park rangers. From the back of the island another colony of seals and sea lions can often be seen basking on the rocks and swimming in the shallows. Seabirds abound in this remote area and often pods of common and bottlenose dolphins can be spotted playing or feeding. The Big Duck heads further west past the darkly spectacular cliffs of Kings Beach and Waitpinga before turning around and heading back to Granite Island.Tour routes are dependent on weather conditions and are subject to change.

What a Hoot!
A fantastic opportunity to see the vistas and wildlife of Encounter Bay. We spent a fantastic 90 minutes on their longer cruise, going out to the Waitpinga Cliffs. The crew were excellent, and "The Big Duck" was a pleasure to ride in. Make sure you sit up front, don't be put off by having to wear the seat belts, its fantastic and you get to be much closer to the Dolphins that put on a show. We had only recently done a whale watching cruise in Iceland and this was up there without having to travel half way around the world. No whales in November, but the Dolphins (Common and Bottle Nose) plus the seals were great!

Amazing!
An amazing afternoon out. The boat has seats undercover from the middle to back of the boat. Also a small number of seats at the front with seatbelts if you’re after more of a thrill going over the waves. We saw many seals and dolphins on the trip - whales were not expected at this time of year. The guides shared interesting information about the landmarks and marine life. It was a rough afternoon with 2-3 meter swells so the trip was like a roller coaster ride. Heaps of fun but not provided you don’t get sea sick easily. Makes for a lovely day out, especially when paired with other tourist attractions at victor harbour. Can highly recommend and would go again. Thanks to the operators.

Learning while having fun!
A wonderful adventure. Learned so much, saw so much had so much fun. Amazing guide who shared so much information and was able to answer all our questions and a skipper who we felt totally confident with. Beautiful clean well appointed boat.
