Gentle Giants
I took my nephew whale watching for a surprise birthday experience. Adrenaline did not disappoint us. The staff were happy, helpful and friendly. They negotiated the vessel close to the whales while still respecting the safety of these magnificent mammals and their offspring.
Fantastic Experience
Absolutely fantastic experience, took my best friend and we both enjoyed it. We went on the boat Kaiala and it was the perfect size for the best experience. The captain was fun and made sure to check in with everyone and even told us about the boats on the river. 100% take a sea world cruise, the team are the best.
What you can expect
Get out on the water and see the most majestic creatures in the sea on this whale watching cruise from Main Beach on the Gold Coast. For about 2.5 hours you'll be cruising around the waterways looking out for the mighty humpback whales on their migration path.
After about 20 minutes of cruising out to the deeper waters, you'll be helping the crew out by scanning the horizon for the humpback whales 'blow'. Enjoy the excitement of seeing whales splash around and flick their tales and hopefully even breach just near your boat on this whale watching adventure.
While humpback whales are the stars of the show, tours often encounter Bottlenose Dolphins, Common Dolphins, sharks, turtles and albatross. If you don't see whales on your cruise, receive a free cruises to head out and see them again.

- Tours depart daily from early June to early November
- 9am, 12pm and 3pm tours with vessel "Spirit of Migaloo II" (Boat capacity 190 pax)
- Additional departure times running at 8am, 11am and 2pm tours with vessel "Kaiala" (Boat capacity 80 pax)
- Departures are seasonal and subject to change

- Booking changes and cancellations are available without penalty up to 24 hours before departure. Within 24 hours, 100% of the fare is forfeited. For groups of 10 or more, 72 hours notice is required.
- All cruises are weather, minimum passenger number, and Queensland Health advisory dependent
- In the unlikely event of a cancellation by the operator, you will be provided with a full refund (excluding gift vouchers) or a 12-month credit to use towards another cruise
- The operator reserves the right to substitute the vessel or change the itinerary without notice
