    Equally thrilling and relaxing, a hot-air ballooning adventure is a pure and unforgettable experience. Depending on the wind direction you may make a tranquil hot-air balloon flight over the Avon Valley, or over the rolling hills, lush green fields and meandering streams. The still morning air makes flying conditions perfect during what is known in the hot-air ballooning industry as the "weather window", a gloriously peaceful time over an often hectic city.

    The hot-air ballooning journey begins with a briefing by the pilot before you head to the launch site and, if you like, help prepare the hot-air balloon for flight. Thirty minutes later you'll be drifting gracefully over the countryside. The hot-air ballooning flight itself will last around one hour.

    After gently touching down again a hot air ballooning flight certificate is distributed to all passengers, rounding off a fabulous adventure. The icing on the cake is a sumptuous Champagne breakfast – the perfect way to toast your hot-air ballooning adventure.

  • Experience Details

    Fitness and Experience

    • You must be able to stand unaided for the duration of the flight and be able to get in and out of the wicker basket
    • Please advise us if you have had recent back or leg injury/surgery
    • No experience is required. If you have any special dietary requirements for the champagne breakfast, such as a vegetarian diet, please ensure you mention this on the booking form
    • Maximum weight is 95kg, if over 95kg please advise before booking as there are only limited places available per flight for those between 95kg and 130kg due to load limitations

    What to Bring/Wear

    It does not get any colder in the balloon because we do not reach high altitudes and there is no wind chill factor as the balloon moves with the wind. However please be aware that it can be cold in the Avon Valley. Bring sunglasses, cap or beanie and scarf.

    Ballooning in Western Australia is seasonal. Flights take place during the cooler months from early April to late November as the hot and windy summer weather in Western Australia is unsuitable for ballooning. The Avon Valley lies one-hour east of the Perth CBD. The meeting location for the flight is Northam Airfield. Meeting time is approximately half an hour before sunrise. Spectators: We do not encourage groups of spectators as we do not always launch at the airfield and vehicles CANNOT follow onto the private property that the balloon is launched from. There are limited places for a spouse or partner to accompany as a non-flying participant at an additional cost (Pre-booking is essential - limited spaces available).

    • Dates are subject to availability
    • Flight on a Tuesday or Thursday is scheduled once the minimum participant number of 6 people is reached
    • Wednesday bookings are unavailable as it's the Pilot's official day off
    • Promotional codes can not be used on this experience
