Enjoy an adventure on Goulburn River with a double canoe fit for you and a friend, partner, or family member. Just two hours outside of Melbourne you can immerse yourself in this pristine natural landscape and put your paddling skills to the test.
In the morning you’ll meet your experience providers on the Murray Valley Highway and follow them to Yambuna Bridge, where you’ll park your vehicle. Then you’ll be driven upstream an appropriate distance for you to journey back in the canoe. Before the two of you set off on your own you’ll get safety vests, dry bags for your valuables, and a briefing to make sure everyone is comfortable paddling in the canoe. Then it’s just you and the Goulburn River!
This is the perfect spot for a canoeing adventure, as there should only be canoes and maybe some local fisherman out on the water. What you will spot as you paddle downstream is some native wildlife, so keep an eye out for a variety of water and forest birds, and even a platypus if you’re lucky. You’ll be canoeing past the pristine Barmah Forest, and occasionally you can put your skills to the test to manoeuver your way around fallen trees and branches in the water.
This canoeing experience is a great way to enjoy a bit of adventure, so pack some snacks and soak up the Goulburn River landscape as you paddle.
