    Discover ancient cultures, wonderous wildlife and cascading creeks and waterfalls on this day tour from Cairns, Palm Cove and Trinity Beach. Begin the adventure with an easy 45-minute walk around the lush rainforest and beachfront. Be sure to keep an eye out as you may spot the majestic Cassowary bird that resides in the surrounding streams. You’ll then head over to Babinda Boulders, a local’s favourite where you can take a dip in the secluded swimming hole surrounded by the rainforest.  

    Take a moment to close your eyes and breathe in the fresh rainforest air and the sounds of the birds whistling in the wind. Continue the day with a relaxing bush walk through the rainforest to the Devil’s Pool Lookout for a delicious picnic lunch whilst learning about the famous Yindinji Indigenous Legend that gave these beautiful pools their eerie name. The day wraps up with a scenic journey back to Cairns after a day of exploration in North Queensland.

    What to Bring/Wear

    • Due to the limited space within the van, please only bring a small backpack or similar with you

    • Enjoy an easy 45 minute walk with an indigenous ranger
    • Listen to the Dreamtime stories of the cassowary, the evolution of the landscape and the cultural heritage of the Indigenous tribes over the last 60,000 years
    • Enjoy a delicious lunch by the water
    • Enjoy a dip in the clear waters surrounding the 'Babinda Boulders'
    • Slide down the waterfalls of Josephine Falls
    • Try your hand at basket weaving using palm leaves
    • Cultural education provided throughout by local guides

    • Please note guests cannot take a selfie or a photo with the cassowary, you can take photos of the Cassowary from afar. Guests must always stay behind the guide and must follow all instructions from the guide
