This 3-day expedition is the real-deal! Sea life abounds with seals, penguins and the occasional pod of dolphins in among spectacular Australian scenery.
This Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory is for people who want to get away from it all! Your experience begins with a short discussion on the format for the day including lunch break, distance expected to paddle and weather conditions. You are then kitted up with a PFD, spray deck, paddle jacket, thermals and a paddle before the all important Kayak safety briefing including a dry capsize drill. Most sea kayaks are double sea kayaks with a couple of single kayaks available for the more experienced paddlers in the group.
The kayaking begins at Port Welshpool with a 3-4 hour paddle across Corner Inlet and “Five ways” to Tin Mine Cove. Tin Mine cove will be our base and we will set up camp in this remote and beautiful part of Corner Inslet. There is a creek for drinking water and great snorkeling off the beach.
The second day of your Wilsons Promontory Kayaking adventure will be spent exploring the area around Tin Mine Cove visiting islands and bushwalking. As you paddle around the local coves you will want to keep an eye out for local dolphins and seals as well as sea eagles and cormorants. Corner Inlet is actually a Marine National Park and provides protection to a large number of local wildlife. It is a spectacular area of granite rocks plunging down into azure clear water. Beautiful pink, granite rocks separate these coves and make sure you bring your snorkelling gear on this trip so you can view the abundant marine life that inhabits this marine park. This is one of the most scenically spectacular areas in Australia and is so beautiful that you will not want to leave!
Day three we break camp and head back across Corner Inlet for the return journey. This unique sea kayaking adventure is definately a once in a life time trip.
