Experience the excitement of a hot air balloon flight drifting over the Belubula Valley near Orange in New South Wales. Nothing compares to the thrill of taking off and soaring high above the lush landscape at sunrise.
Rising before dawn, you'll head to the launch site to prepare for take off. If you're up for it you can opt to join the crew in unpacking and preparing the balloon for flight, which is a spectacle in itself. After an exciting launch, you'll drift with the wind silently over the beautiful farmlands and valleys of the Central West of NSW.
All part of the excitement is the fact that you never know exactly where you're going to end up as you can't steer balloons; to manoeuvre the balloon your pilot ascends or descends in altitude, catching different wind currents.
After landing you can choose to help the crew pack the balloon away, which is a bit like packing up a 100ft tall sleeping bag! To top off the morning you'll celebrate with your host “Tommy” at the exquisite Montrose House, where you will indulge in a hearty cooked breakfast and Toms Waterhole bubbly, complete with local produce, wines and espresso coffee. It's the perfect way to complete your unforgettable hot air ballooning adventure.
