About a 90 minute drive out of Hobart, you need to experience the excitement of the Tahune Forest Adventures. Indulge your inner nature lover and adrenaline junkie with the Tahune Airwalk, where you’ll wander out onto an elevated walkway looking out at the lush forest landscape all around you and way below.
The famous Tahune Airwalk is suspended 30 metres above the forest floor, and the final cantilever section is a breath-taking 50 metres above the Huon River. To reach the Airwalk you’ll climb 104 steps, with spots to rest and disabled access available. Then the Airwalk itself is over 600 metres long, so get ready for a nature walk like nothing else.
Between the wild heights and the stunning panoramic views extending to the mountains of the World Heritage Area, the Airwalk experience will definitely get your heart racing.
Tahune Adventures also offers amazing nature walks like the Swinging Bridges Walk. Feel the powerful surge of the Huon and Picton Rivers below you as you cross the bridges over the riverbanks. Note that parts of the Tahune nature walks are still under construction recovering from bushfire damage. There’s also a licensed cafe onsite if you want to relax with some food and drink.
If you want to see the incredible natural beauty of Southern Tasmania and enjoy a seriously exhilarating experience, the Tahune Airwalk is a must do.
