What you can expect
Take a day trip down from Melbourne to the southernmost point of mainland Australia for an action-packed day of exploring, hiking, and unbeatable coastal views. This small group tour takes you to all the beach and mountain highlights of Wilsons Promontory National Park, affectionately known as ‘The Prom’. It’s the perfect Melbourne day trip if you like a bit of action and adventure. You’ll hit the road in the early morning with a group of no more than eight people, and head straight to Wilsons Prom. Your first hike is an easy 3km walk to get you started. It journeys through the lush natural terrain and opens up to a unique and unforgettable view of the vast ‘Big Drift’ sand dunes. After making a stop for lunch, you’ll head to your second hike of the day - a 6.8 return journey to Mount Oberon. Get your blood pumping and reap the rewards. The summit boasts what might just be the best coastal views in all of Victoria. The next stop is Tidal River, where you can treat yourself to an ice cream before you head to the famous white-sand Squeaky Beach. Then on your way out of the National Park you’ll make a final stop to spot some native wildlife. Wilsons Prom is known for its abundance of animals, and there’s a good chance you’ll be able to see wombats, emus, kangaroos and wallabies throughout the day.

Itinerary
- We arrive at Wilsons Prom and embark on our first hike for the day which takes us through beautiful terrain and emerges to the vastness of “The Big Drift” Wilsons Promontory sand dunes. Once we return we will take a small drive to the general store for some lunch. Next, it’s time for our second hike of the day, a 7.8 km return journey to the famous Mt Oberon. Our next stop is one of our favourites, Squeaky Beach. Here you can wander on the incredibly white rounded grains of quartz which make a squeaking sound giving this popular local beach its name. Finally, as we are departing the National Park, we will make a stop to see our native furry friends. There is a high chance you’ll see Wombats, Emus, Kangaroos and Wallabies going about their daily business.

- No large luggage as there is not enough storage space
Additional Information
- Guests under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult
- Children must be minimum 15 years of age to participate
- Some bush walking experience recommended. (total distance of 10km)
- Tracks may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and numerous steps
- This trail is Hiking Grade 3 which is recommended for people with some bushwalking experience

No Food, Healthy snacks, coffee and organic tea was provided. You'll have to buy everything in your own. Tour guide is more like just a driver, not commentary and doesn't assist or at least check on the people specially during hike.

The most amazing tour, beautiful views and spots we went to, Michael our tour guide was very passionate, answered all of our questions and was great to chat to as well, squeaky beach was definitely amazing, the sand really does squeak. Everything was so much fun!!
