These mind-blowing experiences are designed to provide the ultimate in gravity-defying fun. There's nothing quite like the feeling of freefall, the strange sensation of weightlessness as you hurtle towards the Earth at 200 km/h. Whether it's from 8,000 or 15,000 feet above the ground, this is one leap of faith you'll never forget.
No need to stress about safety. You’ll be under the watchful eye of one or sometimes two trained instructors, who are dedicated solely to you. From Airlie Beach to Rottnest Island, all our outdoor skydive package providers are registered by the Australian Parachute Federation (APF). The APF has strict technical directives to ensure safety guidelines and standards are met. APF guidelines apply for all states, including NSW, Victoria, and QLD.
Not only are our skydiving adventures safe and exhilarating, but they’re also super scenic. We’ve partnered with providers at the most picturesque dropzones in Australia to give you a mesmerising view as you fall. How does free falling over the Whitsunday Islands sound?
Tandem Skydive Experiences
Tandem skydiving involves a 60-second free fall accompanied by a trained instructor from up to 15,000 feet above sea level. Once you’ve experienced the heart-pounding ascent from your moving aircraft, you’ll float like a bird under the canopy for up to seven minutes, absorbing spectacular scenery before your soft landing on terra firma. Looking to skydive for the first time? This is your place to start. The experienced and highly qualified instructors will teach you new skills and make sure you have the time of your life.
Whether you’re in Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, or elsewhere in Australia, Adrenaline provides great tandem skydive deals to suit all levels, preferences and experiences. We’ve got midweek and weekend tandem packages with extras or additions at breathtaking locations for all major centres.
How to prepare for skydiving?
Weight restrictions apply, which are outlined on our booking pages. Skydivers over 95 kg may be accepted on a case by case basis. No physical fitness training is required.
Keep an eye on the weather and remain flexible. Skydiving is a weather-dependent pursuit, and your provider will postpone if the conditions aren’t safe. Heavy cloud cover, rain, and winds over 25 knots usually mean you’ll have to wait for another day.
In some situations, your provider may ask you to travel to the dropzone and wait to see if conditions improve. On foul days, you’ll be told to stay home.
If the weather’s looking good, eat and drink as you normally would. Being hydrated and well-fed makes you less likely to feel nauseous or light-headed. While it should go without saying, don’t drink alcohol before your jump, as you’ll be barred from getting on the plane. Also, don’t rock up after a big night out, because being hungover will spoil this special experience–and your instructor won’t be impressed. If you did overdo it the night before, call your provider to reschedule.
Arrive with plenty of time to spare. You don’t want to miss this experience. When called up for your briefing, relax and take deep breaths as you listen to every word your instructor says. This is the most important person in your life until you touch down. Don’t hesitate to ask questions as required.
As for the freefall? Expect the unexpected. Apart from an initial overwhelming bodily and psychological rush, free falling at 200 kilometres per hour for 45 to 60 seconds is guaranteed to induce goosebumps, perspiration, heightened blood pressure, sharpened senses, or all of the above. Remember to breathe, smile, and savour the moment. You’ll likely feel a heightened sense of adrenaline long after you land.
What to wear when skydiving?
Put on comfortable clothing you’d normally wear that day. Avoid restrictive apparel and slip into some comfy shoes with laces that do up tight–no heels, boots, steel caps or thongs (flip-flops). If it’s chilly, accept your instructor’s offer of a jumpsuit.
Prescription glasses and contact lenses are encouraged so you can see the scenery. Your instructor will provide goggles to wear over the top. Helmets are provided but not compulsory.
